JOB SUMMARY:
The Corporate Designer is responsible for coordinating with Dealers to assist with project designs. Being a proven designer yourself, you will contribute to our performance-driven culture, drawing on your own experiences and success to promote the overall Merit Experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Corporate Designer:
  • Consult with dealers to determine needs, preferences, and purpose of space.
  • Develop detailed plans showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, cabinets, and other fixtures using 20/20 Kitchen Design software.
  • Develop plans, elevations, and detailed drawings, and advise on selection of colours, finishes, and materials.
  • Estimate project costs and materials required using the Merit Kitchens Spec Books.
  • Prepare plans and specifications for the final kitchen designs in accordance with current practices and codes.
  • Assess dealers’ needs and resources and recommend the appropriate goods or services.
  • Provide input into product designs where goods or services must be tailored to suit customers’ needs.
  • Develop reports and proposals as part of design presentation to illustrate benefits of the Merit product.
  • Estimate costs of design projects.
  • Prepare and administer sales quotes.
  • May train dealers on the products we have and how to use them.
  • May perform other duties as delegated by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with 20/20 Kitchen Design software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven understanding of product knowledge, the industry, and area of service is considered an asset.
  • Professional appearance and telephone manners.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of design experience with clients.
  • Ability to maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Adaptability and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Thoroughness on all tasks.
  • Understanding work expectations, commitment to the expectations, and fulfillment of the tasks.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • Annual Salary: $57,000.00.
