JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipper - Level 1 is responsible for performing entry-level shipping, packaging, and product verification tasks within the cabinet manufacturing process. This role supports shipping operations by packaging cabinet components, preparing hardware packs, operating strapping equipment, and ensuring products are properly protected and prepared for shipment while maintaining company quality and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Package cabinet parts and components according to shipping specifications and company standards.
- Wrap and protect cabinet parts to prevent damage during transportation and handling.
- Operate parts strapping machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform long box wrapping and packaging operations.
- Operate long box strapping equipment and secure products for shipment.
- Prepare and organize hardware packs and related shipment materials.
- Inspect packaged products for quality, accuracy, and shipping readiness.
- Follow shipping schedules, packaging instructions, and production priorities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shipping and packaging workstations.
- Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate shipping concerns, product damage, or material shortages to supervisors or Lead Hands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills & Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Manufacturing experience: Previous experience in shipping, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing environments considered an asset.
- Technical skills: Ability to safely operate packaging tools, strapping equipment, and material handling equipment.
- Attention to detail: Ability to verify packaging accuracy and identify damaged or defective products.
- Organization skills: Ability to manage packaging materials and maintain organized work areas.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production and shipping environment.
- Work ethic: Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and capable of meeting shipping deadlines and productivity targets.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements continuously during packaging operations.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and safely handle cabinet components and packaging materials.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate strapping equipment and packaging tools.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to industrial noise, packaging materials, warehouse traffic, and manufacturing equipment.
- Fast-paced shipping and packaging environment with repetitive tasks.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive movements.
